With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steven Mark Ratliff, who departed from this world on January 13, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on March 28, 1960, in El Monte, California, Steven lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to others. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Paul and Hattie Sue Brandon Ratliff, who instilled in him the values that would guide him throughout his life.
Steven is survived by his devoted wife of six years, Annette Ratliff, who was not only his partner but also his best friend. Together, they created a warm and loving home, filled with laughter and support. Steven was a proud father to his sons, Kyle Sawyer Ratliff (Alicia) and Cal Ryan Ratliff, who brought him immense joy and pride. He was also a cherished grandfather to Everleigh Ratliff, Logan Ratliff, Arrow Collier, and Salem Gunn. Steven's family was the center of his universe, and he dedicated himself to nurturing and guiding them with love.
A man of many talents and interests, Steven had a profound love for the outdoors. He enjoyed farming, camping, hiking, and running marathons, finding peace and fulfillment in nature's beauty. He was a great family man whose love for his wife and children shone brightly in all that he did. Steven was highly skilled in his profession, holding a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and he demonstrated unwavering dedication to his job throughout his career.
Steven's commitment to service extended beyond his family; he proudly served his country in the Army Special Forces, a role that filled him with pride and purpose. His love for his country was evident in every aspect of his life, and he carried the values of duty and honor with him always.
In addition to his professional achievements, Steven was a devoted member of Desperation Church, where he found solace in reading his Bible and studying the word. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both joyous and challenging times. He touched the lives of many within his community, fostering friendships that will last beyond his time on earth.
Steven is also survived by his brother, Russ Rogers (Belinda), along with numerous other family members and friends who will miss his kindness, warmth, and infectious spirit.
