Steven E. Siemsen passed away on February 4, 2024, in Fairbury, Nebraska. He was born to Eugene and Clarice (Goebel) Siemsen on May 30, 1958, in Fairbury. He was later baptized at Grace Lutheran Church and then confirmed there. He grew up on the family farm near Thompson. He attended the first years of elementary school at District 101 in Thompson, then attended Fairbury schools, graduating from Fairbury High School in 1976.
After graduation, Steve lived in Lincoln, working at a variety of places, including Misle Chevrolet. He then came back to Fairbury where Steve and Ken Upton started U. S. Contracting. After Ken's passing, he continued with their company name and built more than 20 homes in Jefferson County.
He also got his auctioneer's license and worked for Steve Kettelhut as an auctioneer.
On October 2, 2021, he married Deb Hein in an outdoor ceremony on the family homestead next to a willow tree he had planted.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Deb, sisters Shari (Dwight) Stelling of Des Moines, Iowa and Lisa (Tim) Stallings of Dana Point, California, nephew Jacob Stallings of Phoenix, Arizona, niece Alicia (Gage) Hisey of Columbus, Ohio, stepdaughters Megan (David) Tracy, Angie Hein (Kip Jefferies), step-grandchildren Alexis Tracy (Keaton Williams), Baylee Tracy, Chloe Tracy, Wyatt Hein, Hazel Jefferies, all of Fairbury and other beloved family and friends.
Services will be Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury, with lunch to follow. The family will greet friends Monday evening, February 12th at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury from 5 – 8. Memorials will go to Family's Choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
