70, of Providence, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024, at Steere House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Steven was the loving husband of Carol (Wayner) Sinapi for 28 years. Steven grew up in the Knightsville section of Cranston, and is predeceased by his parents, Orlando and Mary (Simonini) Sinapi. He was the beloved brother of Michael (Maryellen) Sinapi of Broomall, PA, Adele (Joseph) Renzulli of Warwick, and David (Lisa) Sinapi of Cranston, and brother-in-law to Patricia (Edward) Dubois, Joyce (Paul) Cohen, both of Cranston, and Janice (Primo) DePetrillo of Florida. Steven leaves behind many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and friends whom he adored. Steven was a giant teddy bear who always greeted you with a smile, he remembered to always laugh and not take life too seriously, and he was thrilled to celebrate any special occasion with those he loved.
Steven graduated from Cranston High School East and worked as a member of Teamsters Local, 251. For many years, he was a member of the St. Mary's Feast Society and the Knights of Columbus Council, #1738, Cranston. Steven always knew what was going on in his hometown of Cranston and enjoyed driving around the city, talking with friends and others he would meet; fondly referred to as the "Mayor of Cranston." Steven was an avid wrestler in high school and as an adult he enjoyed watching professional wrestling and all other sports, especially the Yankees, and for years he swam daily at the local YMCA. Most importantly he loved to spend time with his many family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated February 8th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston, RI. Visiting hours will be prior from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Nardolillo Funeral Home at 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI.
