Steven Nicholas Stokes

Steven Nicholas Stokes, age 44 a resident of Prattville, died Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Prattville Baptist Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Stokes will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 2pm at Hepzibah Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Aman officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1-2pm at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Marcus Jordan, Bryant Stokes, Chad Jordan, Russell Johnson, Larry Stokes, Johnny Kent and Josh McWaters.

Nick was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Nick was never the type to let an obstacle stand in his way or a task go unfinished. His unfortunate paralysis did not keep him from graduating from Auburn with his degree in civil engineering or from having his career at the department of Transportation. Nick also had a love of life and had a way of uplifting those around him. It was hard to stay in a bad mood with him around because his kindness and warmth were infectious. He cherished his time with his family and friends. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Mr. Stokes is survived by his parents: Steve and Dell Stokes; brother, Jeremy Stokes; nephews: Cooper Stokes and Baylor Stokes; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: BB and Elaine Stokes; and maternal grandparents: Richard McManus and Joyce Nettles.
