Steven R. Straub

Steven R. Straub 76, of Decatur passed away Friday December 12, 2025 at Parkview Regional Medical Center after his courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 27, 1949 to the late Glenn Jr. and Germaine (Lengerich) Straub. On January 22, 1972 he married the love of his life Jenny (Meyer)

Steve attended the Bridge Community Church in Decatur, and was a member of the Moose Lodge #1311. He was employed at General Electric for 20 years and Dolco Packaging for 18yrs. After his retirement Steve remained busy working part time at Rural King and then Kroger. He loved to be outdoors especially his time in the woods cutting wood. He loved his wife and children very much and absolutely adored his grandchildren who where a bright light in his life.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Jenny Straub of Decatur, his son Jeffery "Jeff" Straub of Decatur, his daughter Jodi (Eric) Garner of Decatur, his brother Thomas (Carolyn) Straub of Fort Wayne and his four grandchildren Brynlee, Katelyn, Brooklyn, and Lilly.

Steve was preceded in death by his brother James Straub.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 16, 2025 from 3:00-7:00 pm at Haggard Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7:00 pm also at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at the Decatur Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the ACCF Angel Cancer Fund.

The family has requested casual dress for Steve"s services.
