Steven Usher

Steven Cady Usher, 84 of North Haven passed away on June 14, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital with family by his side. Steve was born December 3,1940 in New Haven to father, the late Harry C. Usher, Jr. and mother, the late Alice (Shirk) Usher. After graduating from the Taft School, Steve joined the U.S. Marine Corps. His time in the Corps remained something he carried proudly throughout his life. Following his time in the service, Steve attended Williams College, but graduated from George Washington University. He is preceded in death by his sister, Royse Dahill as well his daughter, Ali Usher. He leaves behind his wife Marne Usher; his children, Paige (Ed) Usher-Rankin, Suzy (Tom) Harris, Andrew (Erin) Usher; and his beloved grandchildren, Emily Rankin, Brennan Harris, Serena Harris, Jack Harris, and Callum Usher. Above all else, Steve loved his family. He loved going to see live music with Ali, long motorcycle rides with Paige, hiking and walking during every season in beautiful places with Suzy, and he never missed a single game Andrew played in. Steve valued his friendships deeply. Whether they were from his childhood, school years, or adulthood, he cherished their contribution to his life. A memorial service for friends and family to celebrate his life will be scheduled at a later date. Donations in Steve's memory may be made to Save the Sound or Wounded Warriors.
