Steven Wilson Obituary

Steven Wilson
1959 - 2026
Springfield
Steven Wilson, a lifelong resident of Springfield, MA, was born on October 06, 1959. He attended local schools in the area and enjoyed playing tennis and basketball in his youth. Steven retired from Friendlys' Corporation after 42 years of service in 2025.
Predeceased by his parents, Lee and Annie Mae Wilson, Steven leaves several people to cherish his memory: his two younger brothers; Anthony Wilson (Jean Wilson), and Lee Wilson (Dae1 Starks-Wilson). Ms. Charla Raye Charles and their children Nathaniel L. Wilson, Terrence L. Wilson, Krystle T. Wilson, and Jasmin R. Wilson. Ms. Cynthia Moore-Wilson and Stevens' stepson, Darien Williams II. His beautiful grandchildren: Tyrice Wilson, Jordan Wilson, Ava Wilson, Josiah Wilson, Melvin D. Williams III, and Aniyahlyse Wilson; his Great-Granddaughter, along with several nieces and nephews.
Steven loved to fish! He enjoyed going out on the water with his fishing buddies Lee "Riverhawk" Turner, Saroeun Ton, and a host of like-minded fishermen. Mr. Wilson loved to cook on the grill, listen to jazz music, and spend time with his family and friends. He loved to watch sports, especially his favorite NFL and NBA teams; The Washington Commanders and The Philadelphia 76ers. He was a kindhearted soul who touched the heart of many. Steven Wilson will be missed by all he encountered.

Steve was my neighbor for 20+ years. He was such a kind and gentle soul. We'd sit on his stoop in good weather and talk about life, kids, our hopes, a little gossip. He gave me tomatoes he had grown in his yard and helped me out when I asked. We just talked a few weeks ago as we were getting our mail. He was a friend and will be truly missed as one of the good souls on our block.

I, like many people, wish that I had spent more time with him. We both worked at Friendly when we met. I left but maintained a nice warm friendship. I will miss him. I hold fond memories of us watching games and even played some tennis. He will always be fondly remembered. Rest easy now my friend.
