Steven S. "Woody" Woodward, 67 of Rockland died suddenly at his home on March 26, 2017. He was born in Providence, RI son of the late Albert H. and Rita R. (Belanger) Woodward. He was raised and educated in Pembroke and was a 1968 graduate of Silver Lake High School. A Rockland resident for more than 20 years, Woody was an accomplished painting contractor for many years. He had formerly been an active and skilled softball player playing throughout the South Shore. He was an avid Bruce Springsteen fan and glowingly shared stories of the more than 70 concerts that he had attended. He also loved the J. Geils Band and many other classic rock and roll bands. He was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the other Boston sports teams. Mr. Woodward was an active member of the Rockland Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Rockland Council of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his children Corey J. Woodward and his wife Lisa of Rockland, Scott A. Woodward and his wife Ashley of Kingston, Katie R. Woodward and her friend Matt Mahoney of Plymouth and his step daughter Linda K. Walker and her husband Christian of Pembroke. He was the brother of Thomas C. Woodward of Plymouth and Kenneth C. Woodward of Tampa, FL. He was the proud Papa of Cody H. Woodward and Avery K. Woodward. He was pre-deceased by his wife and dear friend Susan (Baker) Woodward. The family welcomes friends and relatives to celebrate his life on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland from4:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March, 31 2017 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland. Donations in his memory may be made to The Rockland Eagles Children's Fund, 29 Park Street Rockland, MA. 02370.
