Steven Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Casper Funeral & Cremation Services on Dec. 8, 2025.
Steven Robert Wright, 65, of Athol, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. Known for his warmth, humor, and generous spirit, Steven lived a life filled with service, family, faith, and joy.
Steven proudly served his country as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army, a commitment that shaped his sense of duty and compassion. Throughout his career, he worked in sales and human services, connecting with people through both his professional and personal life.
A true lover of life's lighter moments, Steven had a playful personality and a passion for music, trivia, and DJing. He was an avid reader with a sharp mind, always ready with a fact, a story, or a clever observation. He had a love of movies and going to the theater with his Son.
Steven's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He had a deep personal relationship with Jesus and lived by the words, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest" (Exodus 33:14).
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Wright; his children, Heather Gendron and her husband Joshua, Melissa Gallagher and her husband Mathew, Erik Wright and his wife Sara; and his stepson Eric Thompson. He was the cherished Pappy of Abigail, Olivia, Colin, Caleb, Lucas, Felix, Jacob, Lucy, and Penny.
Steven also leaves behind his siblings Edward Wright and his wife Susan, Donna Linares and her husband Marcelino, Eileen Wright (late Donald Wright), Valerie Wright, Shawn Wright and J. Wright as well as his in-law siblings Chet Thompson and his wife Kim, Sandy Kuehl, Ronnie Thompson and his wife Kim, and Carol Arsenault and her husband Pete. He is remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph S. Wright and Agnes (Anzalone) Wright, and his siblings, Donald Wright and Kenneth Wright.
A private service will be held at Winchendon Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1pm due to limited space with a celebration of life to follow on December 19, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the Winchendon American Legion. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Steven's life, his joy, and the laughter he brought to all who knew him.
Steven's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Whether as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, soldier, or as the ever-playful Fun-King, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith.
