Steven William Zeier

It is with a deeply heavy heart that the family of Steven William Zeier announces his passing from his Earthly life on October 28, 2023. He was 74.
The family can only imagine the rejoicing he had as he was welcomed by Jesus and those who predeceased him, including his parents, JoAnne (nee Bart) and Robert Zeier, sister Nancy Lucas, and others.
Born in Oak Park, Illinois, he was the son of JoAnn and Bob Zeier. He graduated from St. Louis University and Northeastern Illinois University and went on to teach mathematics for more than 50 years, 43 of which were at Notre Dame College Prep in Niles, Illinois. He was an active parishioner at The Church of the Holy Spirit in Schaumburg, Illinois, for the last 43 years.
Steven is survived by a loving family: wife of 51 years, Adelita (nee Molina); children Matthew (Amelia), Christopher (Diana), Rebecca (Thomas), Alexander (Amy), and Dominic (Linda); grandchildren William, Layli, Kendall, Hailey, Zachary, Quentin, and Piper; brother Gary (Cathy), sister Diane (Mark), and brother-in-law Bill. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, Godchildren, and countless friends, colleagues, and students who adored and admired him. He was the epitome of a family man.
Steven was a faith-filled family man, exemplified through his prayer, teaching, and commitment to educating young people in faith and his dedication to his children and grandchildren. He continually raised the standards of teamwork, dedication, and commitment. His devotion to helping students build relationships with Jesus through Catholic education was among his lasting contributions to both the Notre Dame and the Church of the Holy Spirit communities.
Visitation will be held at Ahlgrim's Funeral Home at 330 Golf Road, Hoffman Estates on Friday, November 10th, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Mass celebrating the life of Steven Zeier will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1451 Bode Road, Schaumburg, Illinois.
