Lydia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, for Stoney J. Hotard, Jr., who passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Randy Courville will be the Celebrant.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Wednesday, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.
A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, at Pellerin Funeral Home.
A native of Weeks Island, Mr. Hotard was born on July 19, 1944, to the late Stoney and Constance Broussard Hotard. He retired from Morton Salt after 44 years of service, where he worked as a mechanic and was a member of the Mine Rescue Team. Mr. Hotard served on the Morton Weeks Credit Union Board and was a member of the Jaycees and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, softball, playing golf, gardening, and watching westerns and sports, especially LSU Football. Most of all, Mr. Hotard loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dolores Robicheaux Hotard of New Iberia; siblings, Sally Trautman and Ted (Lynn) Hotard; children, Tammy Morvant of Lafayette, Tina Perez (Craig) of Lydia, and Todd D. Hotard (Dianne) of Gonzales; grandchildren, Marcus Morvant (Lissa), Kayla Mouton (Colin), Kevin Morvant (Jasmine), Kaitlyn Landry (Jesse), Courtnay Hotard, and Todd Hotard, Jr; great grandchildren, Cali Perez, Wyatt Landry, Coen Mouton, Haven Landry, Tyrese Arnold-Morvant, Luther Dillon-Morvant, La’Kai Dillon-Morvant, Jayla Morvant, Asha Morvant, Kierra Morvant, Key’Mora Morvant, Kamille Morvant, Jaxxon Morvant, Tobias Morvant, Kay’Mani Morvant, Ka’Mya Morvant, and Juliette Morvant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles David Hotard; sister, Mary VanCampen; father-in-law, Dalton Robicheaux; mother-in-law, Vernice Robicheaux; brothers-in-law, Delmar VanCampen and Freddie Trautman.
Pallbearers include Todd Hotard, Ted Hotard, Jimmy Robicheaux, Craig Robicheaux, Craig Perez, and Scotty LeBlanc.
