Stuart Champney Hanley

Stuart Champney Hanley departed for heaven on September 4, 2022 at the age of 64. He was the son of the late John Edward Hanley and Carol Libbey Hanley of Concord, MA. He was predeceased by his brother Stephen C. Hanley. He is survived by his brother David J. Hanley of New Ipswich, NH and sisters, Caroline H. Wright and Elizabeth H. Patterson of Amherst, VA. He is also survived by his nephews John, Jacob and Seth and nieces Crystal, Julia, Haley and great niece Abigail.
Stuart was born in Concord, MA in 1958, graduated from Nashoba Tech in 1976 and began working as an auto body mechanic. Once settled with his chosen field, he worked for Central Collision in Ayer, MA for 40 years. Aside from the seriousness of his job, Stuart was the family comedian with a great sense of humor and could capture the attention of everyone in the room with his stories or recapping one of his favorite episodes of The Three Stooges and he knew them all. We will never forget his laugh and joking spirit. He was also a diehard fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox and of course a fan of the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics and could get your attention with his knowledge of the games, teams, members, past and present, or show off some of the memorabilia he had collected over the years. He not only had the knowledge of the professional teams, he himself was quite athletic and had previously played softball, hockey and was on a bowling league. Stuart also like to listen to music, go fishing, be with friends and family when the opportunity arose or spend time with his companions, Tilly and then Kate, who made his life interesting with their antics. He was a loving brother, son and friend who will be sorely missed. Until we meet again.

Stuart's celebration of life will be held at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord, MA. Saturday, October 8th at 11:00 am.
