I will always remember Stu as the "much older" brother to Anne! His faithful following of the Orioles and Colts act as a constant reminder of his Baltimore heritage.

Dr. Linas was my attending while I was a nephrology fellow at CU over 22 years ago. I often thought about him since then. I feel I am a better doctor after having him as my mentor and attending physician . It was truly a privilege to know him. He was excellent as a mentor, teacher, and doctor. As a person, he was kind. He was a good man.
He has truly left a legacy behind, having trained and thought so many doctors.
Thank you, Stu, for everything that you taught me!

Stu will be dearly missed. He was one in a million.
Working for his department was indeed a privilege. I didn't know how good I had it till I left. But what I cherish most is the genuine love, kindness and wisdom he shared with regards to my mother's illness, and later mine. Forever grateful for the light he graced us with. Rest in peace Stu!!

Stu was a great man as well as a great doctor. I was his barber for all the years he was in Denver and a good friend as well. I will miss him very much, He was also one of the best sports fans ever. Stu I will never forget you dear friend, Dick Alderson your barber.

Stu:
Such a loss to the nephrology community, and even greater deprivation of your presence to your friends, and family. I thought we always had time to `get together´ , therefore we kicked making plans to the curb `for now´. And, as we all know, time indeed eludes us, as we stall forging a date to get together. Time ran out!
Lessons learned for sure.
So many lovely memories. I was always in awe of your patient teaching methodology with the nephrology fellows. You were quick to smile, and laugh-and slow to show displeasure or anger. Your knowledge base was phenomenal. You are among the stars now, Stu-making the universe a little brighter. Jerry and I fondly recall dinners spent with you and Trudi. Always light and enlightening!
I am missing you already, mio amico
