Stuart Carlton Weddle, a beloved member of our community, has passed away on September 30, 2023, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be engrained in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing him. He was born on June 7, 1953, in Independence, Missouri, and grew up to lead a life filled with purpose, kindness, and adventure.
From an early age, Stuart showed a keen interest in engineering. After graduating from Central Missouri State University with an engineering degree, he dedicated over 42 years of his life to working for Siemens Energy, formerly Westinghouse Electric Corp as a field service engineer/project manager. His dedication and expertise were unparalleled as he led teams through the inspection/repair of turbine/generators throughout the country. Stuart enjoyed teaching others on the intricacies of steam turbine maintenance. He was gifted with the ability to translate technical details into a blue collar terminology and illustrate them with life like sketches. His influence knew no bounds as he became a valued mentor to countless individuals.
While his career was undeniably impressive, Stuart's true essence shone through his character. He was a simple, compassionate and selfless man who embraced life's adventures with an open heart. Stuart's love for exploring the world led him to take his family on unforgettable journeys across the globe. His generous spirit touched the lives of all those around him as he shared his experiences and created lasting memories.
Stuart was kind-hearted and warm, he approached every interaction with genuine interest in others' lives. Stuart's inquisitive nature fueled his passion for learning—whether it be through reading books or diving into genealogy and history research. Despite his accomplishments and wealth of knowledge, he remained humble and always eager to lend a helping hand.
Stuart will be deeply missed by his loving family and numerous friends whose lives he enriched with his presence. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and the importance of cherishing every moment life has to offer. His memory will forever serve as a reminder to approach life with curiosity, generosity, and to have an unwavering faith in the Lord.
A Memorial Gathering to honor Stuart's remarkable life will take place on October 7, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Carson-Speaks Chapel, located at 1501 W Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052. This celebration of his life will be an opportunity for friends, family, and all those touched by Stuart's presence to come together and share their cherished memories.
As we mourn the loss of Stuart Carlton Weddle, let us also celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind. He will forever be remembered as a truly remarkable individual—a jack of all trades and a pillar of kindness in our community. Rest in peace, dear Stuart.
