Cora Menke Obituary
She is survived by her husband, Emil Menke of Union; six children: Daniel Menke of Independence, Karen Menke of Union, Lauren Waggoner and husband Barry of Defiance, Lisa Carman and husband Kevin of Union, Steven Menke of Union, and Joel Menke and wife Pam Shumacher of Wentzville; nine grandchildren: Jason Menke, Benjamin Waggoner (Jennifer), Danielle Long (Brian), Elizabeth Fischer (Ben), Deanna Carman, Jeffrey Carman (Jessica), Katherine Jordan (Daniel), Nicholas Carman, and Jacob Carman (Beccah); 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Menke was preceded in death by her parents, Reinhard and Alvina (nee' Helmig) Althage; one son, Wayne Menke; daughter-in-law, Barb Menke; and her three siblings: Irvin Althage (late wife Ruth), Allen Althage (late wife Fae), and Ruth Behringer (late husband Spencer).
Visitation for 93-year-old Cora Menke will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, MO. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 AM on Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow services in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Washington, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
The Menke family is served by Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO.
