Bernetta Eckelkamp Obituary
She is survived by six children: Marvin C. Eckelkamp and wife Elena of Washington, Dale Eckelkamp and wife Diane of Washington, Brenda Eckelkamp of Washington, Michael Eckelkamp of Washington, Gary Eckelkamp of Hermann, and Mary Kay Derby and husband Melvin of Washington; four grandchildren: Keith Eckelkamp, Erica Armenkis (Nicholas), Debbie Boling (Stewart), and Brett Eckelkamp (Tracey); six great-grandchildren: Sloane, Archer, Alex, Stella, Isabel, and Nicholas; one sister, Martha Voss of Washington; two brothers: John Busch of Washington and David Busch and wife Mary Ann of Washington; sister-in-law, Evelyn Busch of Dutzow; brother-in-law, Harold Eckelkamp and wife Judy of Washington; her significant other, Charles "Wynn" Melton of Union; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bernetta was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Eleanor (nee' Renfert) Busch; her husband, Marvin G. Eckelkamp; one son, Keith Eckelkamp; two sisters: Rosemary Spaunhorst (late husband Otto), and Charlene Busch (in-childhood); two brothers: Charles Busch and William Busch (late wife Theola); brother-in-law, Don Voss; and sister-in-law, Marie Busch.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 6, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Gildehaus Catholic Church in Villa Ridge, MO with Rev. Nick Winker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation for 87-year-old Bernetta "Bootsie" Eckelkamp will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO. A parish rosary will be prayed at 2:30 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of St. John's, Franklin County Humane Society, or Masses. Alternatively, donors are encouraged to donate a pint of blood or platelets in her honor.
The Eckelkamp family is served by Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO.
