John Marler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fieser Funeral Home from Feb. 1 to Feb. 2, 2026.
Marler, John F. of Cedar Hill passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the age of 60 years, 11 months, and 19 days. He was born on February 8, 1965, in Crystal City, Missouri, to the late Floyd R. and Patricia L. Marler (née Flaherty). John was the beloved husband to Heather Lynn Marler (née Tobey) and a devoted father to John F. Marler II of Cedar Hill and stepfather to Alexis (Ethan Door) Krafczik of Villa Ridge. He was a proud and loving pawpaw to Adeline Marler who he adored and cherished. He is survived by his siblings: Floyd Jr. (Brenda) Marler of Pevely; Diane (George) Chance of Festus; Sheila Meyer (the late Larry) of Stockton, California; Sandy (Walter) Brown of Buna, Texas; Rick (Brenda) Marler of DeSoto; Pam (Kevin) Wilfong of Festus; Tim (Debbie) Marler of Crystal City; and Jeff Marler of Pevely. He was preceded in death by his sister Laura (Ronnie) Sipp of Valle Mines, his brother Michael A. Marler, and his sister Vivian (Donald) Pope. John was a cherished father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He was a longtime member of the Mississippi River Eagles, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4341, in Crystal City, Missouri, and proudly served two terms from 2004 to 2008 on the Missouri Propane Gas Association Board as District #4 Director. As a truck driver by trade in his off time John was an avid hunter and fisherman, John also enjoyed spending time on the golf course. He bowled for several years (all with his best friend the late Donald Simms) as part of the ABC/USBC Bowling Association and achieved two perfect 300 games-an accomplishment he was especially proud of. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from noon until 4:00 p.m. at Gospel Light Free Will Baptist Church, 7422 Stormy Lane, Bonne Terre, Missouri 63628. A small service will be held at 3:45 p.m. with dinner following. Any flowers or monetary donations should be sent to the church.
