Steven Eckelkamp Obituary

Steven Mitchell Eckelkamp, 65, Washington, passed away into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Feb. 4, 2025.

Steve was born on April 24, 1959, in Washington, to Rudolph August and Bonnie Lou Eckelkamp.

He served and worked as a Navigational Electronics Technician officer in the U. S. Navy early in life and completed his career as a multi-system operations electrician with Daimler-Chrysler.

Steve loved his children. He loved his mother. He loved his dogs, Doc & Poco. He loved his sailboat and living down in the tropical paradise of the Florida Keys. He loved and enjoyed fixing and souping up his car. Steve was an intelligent, quiet, and humble person who would go out of his way to help many who were in need.

He is survived by his children, Kevin Eckelkamp, 40, Elizabeth Eckelkamp, 39, Chelsea Bridget Eckelkamp, 34, Steven Eckelkamp, 30; his grandchildren, Sondra Belt, 19, and Enok Eckelkamp, 9; a great-granddaughter, Roxanne, 10 months; his sister, Sheri Linchey, 64, and brother, Larry Eckelkamp, 63.

We welcome you to join us for a funeral Mass that will be held in Steve's honor, March 29, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Villa Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family for funeral arrangements would be graciously accepted via the Venmo link https://venmo.com/u/Elizabethtown99 or by reaching out to Elizabeth Eckelkamp at (919) 917-1924.
