Sudha Bhagwat Thaker, born in Umreth, Gujarat, India on 21st September, 1931 to the late Pranlal Chhaganlal Bhatt and Vasantben Pranlal Bhatt. She was the eldest child among four siblings. She completed her early and high school education in Siddhpur, Nadiad and Surat.
She married Bhagwat, eighth child of late Harilal Devshankar Thaker and Jadavben Harilal Thaker in Umreth, India on May 5th 1955. After her marriage she lived in Amdavad for one year, later moving to Vadodara. Together they had three children, two sons Jigish and Himanshu, and a daughter Mita, and three grandchildren, Hiral, Jatan, and Kaushal.
She immigrated to the United States with her husband in September 1986. Soon after arriving she was hit with the loss of her husband in a short time. She was determined to stay behind to bring her children to the United States.
She devoted her life to taking care of the elders and children of the greater family. She lent her hand to the greater family and people she knew. She spent her later life enjoying the presence of her own grandchildren and many more of the greater Thaker family and was known by “Baa and Sudhakaki.”
After short sickness of four days, she peacefully passed away on 22nd July, 2025 in the presence of close family.
She is survived by her children and grandsons as well as by daughter-in-law Dipti Jigish Thaker and son-in-law Bharat Narhariprasad Dave.
Her physical presence will be greatly missed.
