Sue Latta Caldarelli passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 20, 2026 at the age of 84. She was born on August 13, 1941, in Cushing, OK.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, David Eugene Caldarelli; three children, Kelly Ann Haeusler, Debra Dawn Hebert (Steve) and Monte David Caldarelli (Gina); five grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Caldarelli Gross (Brad), Camille Rene Haeusler, Cody David Haeusler, Courtney Lynn Caldarelli Watts (Anthony) and Garrett David Caldarelli; five great grandchildren; her brother, Timothy Acton Latta (Marti); and two sisters-in-law, Anna Maria Latta and Susan Blinn Latta.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Iris Latta and Helen Acton Latta; and two brothers, Ronald Dean Latta and Jerry Lee Latta.
Sue embraced her growing family wholeheartedly with her time, love, devotion, and energy. She enthusiastically supported and attended school and sporting events along with all life celebrations. Her life was enriched with adventure and travel, as well as the enjoyment of cooking for her family and friends. Sue was a voracious reader, sharing books with family and friends. She also enjoyed exercising, using her Fitbit to achieve her daily goal. Sue also took great pleasure in volunteering at Gulfport Memorial Hospital Auxiliary achieving over 4,000 hours of service.
Sue graduated from Raton, NM High School in 1959. The Caldarelli’s moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1965. She worked for the National Park Service Science Center for 5 1/2 years. She was the organist at the First Methodist Church of Long Beach for many years and staff organist for Riemann Funeral Homes for 25 years.
There will not be a funeral or memorial service at this time, as per her request. If you wish, donations may be made in Sue’s name to the First Methodist Church of Long Beach ([email protected]) or any other organization of your choice.
