It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sue Orr Glass, a beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, who left this world on November 15, 2025, after what was a courageous yet tragic battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Born on April 18, 1944, in Canton, Ohio, Sue was the daughter of William Orr and Betty Frye Orr. Sue was the epitome of small, but mighty. A true intellectual, she was an avid reader, and a wonderful listener. She loved art, theatre and Paris. She was endlessly patient and filled those around her with comfort and kindness, and it was a privilege to know her.
Sue was a dedicated wife, a loving mother, and a grandmother who was adored by her granddaughters. Sue is survived by her husband, David Glass; her son Adam Glass (Kim Glass); her daughter Sarah Glass Russo (Jason Russo); and her treasured granddaughters: Abigail Russo, Jordan Glass, Emma Russo, and Tessa Russo. She is also survived by her brothers Douglas Orr (Laura Orr) and Jeffrey Orr (Carol Orr), as well as her brother-in-law, Jeffrey Glass (Nancy Glass) and sister-in-law, Judi Ringman, many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
In May of 1964, at the age of 20 she married her high school sweetheart, David Glass. Their enduring marriage spanned six decades. They built a successful and comfortable life together. Sue and David shared a love of travel and had the privilege of seeing much of the world together. They also shared a love of their sweet King Charles Spaniels, and their devotion to their four beautiful granddaughters.
Sue's professional life was equally commendable. She began her career as a secretary at the Visiting Nurses in Red Bank, where her capabilities did not go unnoticed propelling her in time to become the Associate Director of Revenue Services for Meridian Resources. After a rewarding career Sue retired in 2014 at the age of 70.
Sue had a unique ability to make a friend in every room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on those she met. Her warmth and kindness radiated from within, and she was known as a trusted confidant and patient listener who gave thoughtful, sound advice.
We already miss her more than words can express, but we are glad she is resting and at peace. Her love and spirit will remain a guiding light in our lives. Her beautiful soul will never be forgotten.
Thank you to the staff at Millennium Memory Care of Ocean.
We are forever grateful for the beautiful care she received by your staff and for the compassion shown to our family the past 8 months.
The family will plan a Celebration of Life for Sue to be announced at a later date.
