Predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years Gordon Hamson, parents Kenneth and Shirley Gelletly, and brother Jay Gelletly; Survived by son Jeffrey (Jennifer) Hamson and Justin (Jacob) Hamson; Loving Grammy to Jake and Joel Hamson; Dear sister to LeeAnne Gelletly.
A proud alumna of the University of Maryland, after graduating in 1972 she fulfilled her dream of becoming an elementary education teacher. She spent her entire career in the Maple Shade School District in New Jersey, where she worked at Maude Wilkins and Yocum Elementary. Throughout her 30+ years of teaching, she made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of young students and received multiple professional recognitions.
An avid crafter, she embraced any creative endeavor. She loved gardening and building LEGOs. She was always quick to make new friends wherever she went. Above all, she was a devoted and loving Grammy to her two grandsons, who kept her young at heart while she indulged their adventures and creativity.
There will be no formal service.
In lieu of flowers, Sue Ellen would want you to go out and do something good to make the world a better place.
She will be missed dearly by friends and family alike.
