It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Virginia Sue Jones, a cherished wife, devoted mother and adored Nanna, who slipped peacefully into eternity on June 21, 2024, at the age of 70.
Born on July 29, 1953, in Brookwood, Al. to the late Beal and Ruth Clark, Sue's bright spirit and infectious laughter left an indelible mark on the hearts of countless individuals.
On June 22, 1973, Sue married her high school sweetheart and the absolute love of her life, Pat "Buddy" Jones. Throughout their 51-year journey together, Sue was Buddy's rock, providing unwavering support and encouragement in every facet of their lives. Her love language was cooking, and she took great joy in preparing meals for her "Buddy", always ready to serve with a smile.
It was no secret she was the heart and soul of her family. Sue's selfless love created a warm and welcoming home where laughter and joy reigned supreme. Her children and grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding them. As a mother and "Nanna", she embodied the essence of unconditional love, always putting the needs of others before her own. Most recently with her beloved daughter and precious grandchildren, she cherished her time watching them grow and especially loved traveling with them.
Sue's impact extended far beyond her family and friends. Through her son Chad, she was introduced to children with special abilities, and she opened her heart and arms to them, embracing them with the same love and compassion she showed her own family. Her generosity and support for organizations that served these special lives reflects her deep faith and commitment to living a life of service to others.
Sue was preceded in death by her son Chad Jones, her Father Vondon Clark and her Mother Ruth Clark, her Father-in-law Floyd Jones, mother-in-law Nolie Jones, her brothers Larry Clark and Billy Clark and brother-in-law James Jones.
Sue is survived by her beloved husband, Buddy Jones, her daughter Amanda Jones-Guy (Morton) and four cherished grandchildren: Jac Chandler (17), John Chandler (13), Patton Guy (5) and Highland Guy (20), Her brothers Steve Clark, Tony Clark (Cynthia) and Rudy Clark (Holie), and sisters-in-law, Rosa Ritter and Helen Brown (Everette) and brother-in-law Billy Jones (Naomi), and Jacob H. Chandler (father of Jac and Jon). She also leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends who will forever remember her gentle spirit and loving nature.
A celebration of Sue's Life will be held on June 25, 2024 at 3:30 PM, with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, at Circlewood Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa with Bro. Rick Davis officiating and Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel directing. Burial will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
