Dear Jack & Family, Sue was one of my first academic advisors when I came from Sri Lanka to NMSU in 1990. I kept in touch but over the years with more work I lost contact. I am currently a teacher/scientist in Sri Lanka doing research and teaching at a University here. I recently found a picture of myself with Sue then did a google search to find her contact information and just read the obituary. I was deeply saddened that I was days too late to contact her again. She was a committed academic advisor and showed me the way to apply for a PhD after my undergraduate. For a foreign student navigating a new education system and culture it was hugely beneficial and I still gratefully recall some of her advice. I was one of the students from around the world who was welcomed to your home and you were gracious enough to even invite me for Laura's wedding. Sue wanted me to experience an American Wedding. She represented the best in American values and the education system that helps countless students and immigrants coming to the United States. My deepest sympathies and may she rest in peace.

Dear Jack and family. I will never forget how gracious Sue was to me on my returns to Truman. She embodied everything a gracious woman and loving spouse should be. Tim and I can only share from afar, but know that our hearts and prayers are with you. May God bless and keep you in his care.
