Susan J. "Sue Who" Mey, 76, of Vandalia, IL passed away the morning of Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at her home, surrounded by family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM, Sunday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Fund. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Susan Jane Moulton was born on November 16, 1948 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Carl and Rochelle (Workman) Moulton. She married Gary Daniel Mey, they later divorced.
Sue was both a factory worker and bartender/waitress. Over the years, she was employed by World Color Press, Fedders, Cages, and Denny's. Sue enjoyed playing BINGO, watching game shows, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She was also a former charter member of the Women of the Moose, Lodge #1447, Vandalia.
She will forever be remembered by her children, Angela Siebert of Effingham, Brian Mey and wife Mindy of Steeleville, Sarah Mey Clark of Vandalia; siblings, Linda Lawler of Mulberry Grove, Becky Hartman of Vandalia, Jerry Moulton and wife Quita of Osage Beach, MO, Tonya and husband Matt Langston of Vera, Joe Moulton and wife Cindy of Vandalia; ex-husband, Gary Mey of Vandalia; step-children, Gary Mey, Chris Cripe, Cindy Austin; grandchildren, Remington, Brianna, Carly, Nikkia, Ti'anna, Michael, Daniel, Charity; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
Ms. Mey was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Carol Moulton and Gregory Moulton.
