Sue Moss
Jacksonville - Hazel "Sue" L. Moss, 95, of Jacksonville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
She was born on January 28, 1930, in Jacksonville, to the parents of Herbert E. and J. Edith (Watson) Hogan. Sue married Warren E. Moss on February 16, 1947, and he survives. Sue had said that her biggest accomplishment was being married for over 78 years.
Sue worked for the Morgan County Clerk's Office, retiring after 25 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #279, where she was president three times. Sue also was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, being the president three times as well. She loved playing cards and the slot machines.
Sue is survived by her husband, Warren, of Jacksonville; daughter, Linda Hall-Lewis (husband Jim deceased); grandkids, Brad Hall and Jennifer Ghesquiere (Matt); two great grandsons, Isaiah and Taigen; two step great granddaughters, Haley and Gabby; and a step great-great granddaughter, Ruthie. Also surviving are one sister, Nancy Randall; nieces, nephews, and their families.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; and two siblings, Herbert L. Hogan and Anita Kays and her husband, C. M.
There will be no services at this time. However, if you wish to make a memorial donation, the family suggests the South Jacksonville Volunteer Fire Department, 301 Dewey Drive, Jacksonville, IL 62650. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family with arrangements.
