Norma Sue White, age 96, of Emden, MO passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at her home in Emden, MO.

Sue was born on May 4, 1929 in Emden, MO, the daughter of Clinton and Motie (Pope) Turner. She was united in marriage to Donald Howell White on October 27, 1949 in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2015.

She is survived by her two children, Gary Don White (Janet) of Emden, MO and Kelly Suzanne Toombs (David) of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Chris White, Chad White, Casie Belto, and Jacob Toombs; great-grandchildren, Lennon White, Layton White, Maggie Sue White, Crayton Belto and Cambrie Belto; and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; one brother, Clint "Sonny" Turner; and one nephew, David Turner.

Sue graduated from Shelbyville High School with the class of 1947 and attended one year of college in Kirksville. She was an active member of the Emden Christian Church, where she taught a Sunday School class and was also a 4-H leader, teaching crafts and cooking. She held several jobs including working for Shelby County as an assistant to the assessor for 15 years.

The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 3, 2026 at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO. A visitation will precede the service starting at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Emden Memorial Cemetery of Emden, MO.

Memorials may be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Hospice Compassus, or the Emden Memorial Gardens.
