Sue Coffia Wofford

Sue Coffia Wofford, 91, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024. She was born in Decatur, Alabama April 27, 1932, and was the daughter of the late William Henry Coffia and Inez Marie Coffia.
Sue graduated from Gainesville High School and Georgia Southern University where she was a tennis team member. She attended Clemson University where she received a Masters in Education. She taught school in Cobb County, Georgia where she was a charter member of ADK International Teachers Sorority. She was a teacher at Joanna Elementary for 35 years and is a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Clinton, SC.
Sue was predeceased by her husband, John Benjamin Wofford Jr. and her sister, Martha Coffia McKinney. She is survived by her three daughters: Lynn Wofford Edwards (Barry) of Hendersonville, Kay Wofford Phillips of Clinton and Fran Wofford McFall (Russell) of Columbia and one son, John William Wofford (Leslie) of Greenville. She has nine grandchildren: Deborah, Kathryn, Rickey Dale,Kelly, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Emilie, Jack and Henry and 15 great- grandchildren.
Sue was full of life and good spirits. She brought joy and loved fiercely. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. A "Hey Darlin'" from Sue would brighten your day and bring a smile to your face. She reminded us that life is always worth living to the fullest.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 11:00 am at Hopewell United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
