Sue Ellen was my good friend for over forty years. I´ll always
cherish the fun times we shared and our daily phone calls checking
on each other. Those memories mean more than I can say, and I´ll
carry them with me always.

Love all my cousins even though I didn´t get to know any of them well. I do remember how beautiful Sue Ellen was and as a younger cousin, thought her job as a flight attendant was the most amazing job! But what I´ll remember the most about her, is how much she loved her family and how she made so many sacrifices for them.
Phil 1:3....I thank God upon all my remembrance of you.

Sue Ellen was one of 19 Lewis first cousins who grew up bonding through their grandparents Mama and Papa Lewis on a farm in Mississippi. When the Michigan cousins came down for holidays and summer breaks, all the Mississippi cousins loved "catching up," and eating seasonal treats as watermelons, home-made ice cream and feasts of homemade specialties. Each girl Lewis cousin was beautiful, and Sue Ellen was one of several who won "beauty contests." Her mother Christine's beauty was Sue's "gold standard." Throughout her life, as a former majorette, Sue set her own standards. In later years, she was fiercely independent but devoted to caring for Jason, her late sister Linda's disabled son. May she now rest in peace. Sue, we loved you more than you could ever accept.

Sue Ellen and I were friends since college, roommates in New Orleans and again in Atlanta. Many, many phone calls to and from Jackson were sent the last fifteen years. I will miss my friend.

Thinking of the family during this sad time.
I flew with Sue Ellen for several years. She
was a sweet and kind lady. We had many times of laughter.
May God comfort you during your loss.
Lovingly,
Sandy Gibbs
