District Supervisor Emerita Mother Clara M. Allen was born in Guilford County to Ervin "Red" Allen and Iola Pennix Allen on April 29, 1940. Following a life filled with service to God and worship of His Holy name, she peacefully transitioned into eternal life on October 27, 2025.
She attended the Alamance County School System and after completing her education, Mother Clara M. Allen began her professional journey serving Dr. Stanton Huffman and his family in Alamance County, North Carolina. In the 1970s, she relocated to Massachusetts, where she established the foundation of her life and united with the Church of God in Christ (COGIC).
Mother Allen answered the call to ministry as a missionary, dedicating her life to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ across the world. She was a faithful member of Mount Sinai Church of God In Christ where she faithfully served until her health declined. Her missionary work carried her to Haiti, South Africa, Canada, and numerous other nations, where she served selflessly as a true embodiment of Christian service.
Her family in North Carolina eagerly anticipated her visits during the holidays, cherishing the moments spent together preparing abundant meals and enjoying one another's company. Her nieces have fond memories of trips to Hamrick's and the JCPenney Outlet Store in Martinville, Va, where hours were spent shopping.
As District Supervisor, Mother Allen faithfully served the Greater New Hampshire Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ for seventeen years. She also held the distinguished position of District Missionary for the Central Massachusetts District for twenty-four years. Her ministry extended beyond borders as she established an orphanage in Haiti and contributed significantly to the National Education Department of the Church of God in Christ.
Mother Allen was revered as a pillar of strength, wisdom, and faith within her jurisdiction. Many of today's Evangelists and Missionaries were approved, trained, and licensed under her steadfast leadership. She made annual visits to churches throughout the jurisdiction for the express purpose of offering prayer, encouragement, and support to pastors and congregations alike.
A devoted servant and exemplary leader, Mother Clara M. Allen led by example-through her service in ministry, her acts of compassion, and her unwavering commitment to the work of the Lord. Her legacy of faith, excellence, and dedication continues to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing and serving her. She will be cherished and remembered by last surviving sister, Annise A. Foster was well as a host of nieces and nephews other dear relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she now joins her siblings Clarence Allen, George Ervin Allen and Raymond Allen.
