Susan Beauchesne Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Abbey Funeral Home and Tallahassee Memory Gardens - Tallahassee on Feb. 19, 2024.
Susan Beauchesne died late Saturday night, Feb 10, 2024, at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, following a lengthy, hard fought battle with cancer. She was born in Rumford, Maine to Armand and Georgianna (Georgie) Beauchesne, who preceded her in death.
Susan attended elementary through high school in Rumford, Maine. She received her BS in Education from the University of Maine at Farmington and a master's degree from NOVA SE in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
She taught high school science in Arcadia, Florida for 3 years and Cairo, Georgia for 32 years. Susan retired after 35 years in the classroom to pursue other interests.
She was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an International Honorary Organization for Women Educators. She served as the local chapter president for several terms as well as the treasurer. At the district level, she was the Altruism Chairperson. Those were her "Sisters of the Heart."
She loved gardening, traveling and creating her stained glass treasures. Her favorite hobby was bowling and she competed on several teams, earning many "pins" for her excellence. She was also a great competitor at the Senior Games, bringing home multiple medals of all colors.
She will be missed by many, especially her godchildren, Chad and Amy Stewart, and long-time great friends Karen Stewart, Paula Hubbard, Janice Heath, Betsi Henlein, and Lena Kelly.
There will be a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM on February 24th at Abbey Funeral Home, 4307 N Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32303, 850-562-1518.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Susan Beauchesne to: ADK-Epsilon, 1576 Spring Creek Hwy, Crawfordville, Fl 32327.
