Michael Helms

Michael Eugene Helms, 69 years of age, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away on March 16, 2026, surrounded by loved ones in his family home.

Michael was born on July 10th, 1956, in Tallahassee, FL to Clifford and Hattie Helms. Michael graduated from Leon High School in 1974 and then furthered his education at Tallahassee Community College.

On September 08, 1979, Michael married Lorraine Desilets in Tallahassee, FL. Together, they shared 46 years of marriage and raised two children: Katherine and Michael Helms.

Michael dedicated a large number of years to working within the Tire Wholesale Industry.

Towards the end of his working career, Michael spent his days working for the Killearn Country Club, which he truly enjoyed.

Beyond his professional life, Michael was passionate about boating, fishing, hunting, golfing, visiting the beach, and anything that included the great outdoors. Family and friends will always remember him for his adventurous spirit, love of family, humor and wit. Michael always made friends wherever he went and was always willing to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it.

Michael is survived by his loving spouse, Lorraine Helms; children, Katherine Maurer and Michael Helms; grandchildren, Sophie Maurer, Kennedy Helms and Cole Helms; and siblings, Sharyl Alley and Greg Helms. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Hattie Helms.
