Susanette "Susan" Mae Blakemore, the daughter of Kenneth and Shirley (Hogsett) Gulick was born on June 22, 1956, in Brainard, Minnesota. She entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital at the age of 69 years.
She attended school in Villisca. After high school, she married Melvin "Mitch" Mitchell. Born to this union was Rick. After Mitch's passing, she married Mike Greever and born to this union was Shane. She later married Larry Blakemore, who also passed away. She and Mike have remained friends throughout their lives.
Sue worked at Lisle's Corporation in Clarinda before attending cosmetology school in Omaha. She was a homemaker for many years and enjoyed gardening, cooking and making crafts of any kind. Later in her life, she pursued nursing and did receive her Associate Degree of Nursing (RN). She loved working in long-term care and worked in different facilities, She retired from nursing as the DON at St. Joseph Villa in Omaha, Nebraska. After her retirement, she initiated her in-home craft business "Sue's Bluedoor Creations" • She made many beautiful wreaths and many other crafts.
Sue had a deep love for her family and friends. Prior to declining health, she loved getting together with everyone, celebrating birthdays, holidays and football parties. She also learned to enjoy WWE and watching those events with her sons. She enjoyed planning with her sisters their "Grandma's Fun Day11, when they were able to do all kinds of fun activities with all of their grandkids together and, of course, some craft projects. As her health declined, she remained in contact with friends through phone calls, texting and social media. She will be greatly missed!
Left to cherish Sue's memory is her significant other Mike Greever of Villisca; son Rick (Amanda) Mitchell of Stanton; four grandchildren; sister, Tina (Kevin) Anderson of Villisca; brother-in-law Mark Johnston of Villisca; uncle, Frank Hogsett; aunts, Mildred Trevisanut and Gail Stephens; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Kenneth and Shirley Gulick, Sisters, Brenda Gulick and Theresa Johnston, brother Marvin Gulick; son, Shane Greever, husbands Melvin Mitchell and Larry Blakemore.
