Susan Elizabeth Lewis Broussard, 77, of Carlyss, LA passed away on August 18, 2024. Susan was born on January 28, 1947, in Sulphur, LA to Norma and Grant Lewis. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, quilting and painting. She was a member of several local quilting guilds. Susan was of the Catholic faith and belonged to Saint Theresa's Catholic Church. Throughout many years she was an active member of the Cursillo and ACTS movements.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 59 years, Lennie Broussard; sister, Cassy Ackel; three children, Dana (Lee) Richard, Damon (Cathy) Broussard, and Cassy (Jamie) West; grandchildren, Brooke (Steven) Coco, Grant (Danielle) Richard, Sean (Lynsey) Richard, Ben (Cali) Richard, Blaise (Anna) Richard, Faith Richard, Grace Richard, Luke Richard, Alex Broussard, Lewis Broussard, Maggie Broussard, Will Broussard, Oscar Broussard, Clara Broussard, Tristan (Jordyn) West, Jarett West, and Hayden West; and 23 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Matthew Lewis; and sister, Teresa Fuselier.
In lieu of flowers, Susan requested that masses be offered for the repose of her soul.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 2:00 Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Saint Theresa's Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Cursillo rosary at 6:30 PM on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:15 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
