Susan Brumm, 72, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away on December 27, 2025, at her home.
Susan was born to Gordon and Irene (Koester) Brumm and graduated from high school in Rochester in 1971. She went on to dedicate most of her nursing career as a pediatric intensive care unit (ICU) nurse at the University of Minnesota, where she cared for critically ill children with exceptional skill, compassion, and dedication. Nursing was more than a profession to Susan-it was her calling, and she made a lasting difference in the lives of countless patients and families.
Susan had a love for travel and adventure, visiting Africa, England, Mexico, and many other destinations, always eager to explore new cultures and experiences.
At home, Susan found joy in the things she loved most. She was an avid gardener, took great pride in fixing and finishing projects around her house, and enjoyed relaxing while watching her beloved BTS boys. She also never tired of her favorite treat-Kemps Old Fashioned Vanilla ice cream.
Susan is survived by her siblings Cheryl Biel and Dale Brumm, sister-in-law Jill Brumm, her cherished nieces and nephews: Tony (Sally) Biel, Jennie (Scott) Kadlec, Bryce (Lori) Brumm, Kristen (Brent) Hermann, Heather Brumm, and Brandon Brumm; and her great-nieces and great-nephews: Lexi (Jordan) Johnson, Nick (Emily) Ruhland, Aly Ruhland, Jacob Ruhland, Adam Biel, Dillon (Matt) Biel, Burleigh (Sydney) Biel, Brody(Raigan) Brumm, Jillian(David) Stearns, Piper Brumm, Isabelle Dotlich and Derek Dotlich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Irene (Koester) Brumm, her sister Marsha, and her brother Bruce.
Susan will be remembered for her strong independence, adventurous spirit, and determination to always keep busy-whether that meant tending her garden, tackling another home project, planning her next trip, or enjoying her favorite BTS moments. She had a sharp mind, a caring heart, and a quiet humor that showed itself in unexpected ways. Susan lived life on her own terms and will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew her.
