Wayne Brumm Obituary

Wayne Gustav Brumm

Jul 30, 1951 - Nov 26, 2025

Wayne Gustav Brumm, age 74, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane Brumm (nee Schultz); and beloved dog, Hero. He is also survived by his children, Danielle (Bill) Helfrich, Abbey (Brad) Bennett, Kyle Brumm; grandchildren, Alexandra (John) Powell, Emma (Alec) Koscielniak, Caden Helfrich, Brayson, Blainey and Braelyn Bennett, Monroe and Duncan Brumm; great-grandchildren, Trey and Madden Powell; and his brother, Garry (Anne) Brumm.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Mary Brumm, and his sister, Sharon Power.

Wayne grew up in Lansing, IL, and earned his bachelor's degree at Carthage College and went on to earn his CPA and CFP designations.

With over 50 years experience, he built a successful financial advisory practice that reflected his values, his perseverance, and his passion for helping others.

In his free time, Wayne dedicated a large part of his life to coaching and developing youth from all over the Midwest.

Above all, Wayne loved spending his days outside in the sun with his grandchildren and Hero, or working on his beloved Bur Oak Farm.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Wayne will be laid to rest at Maplewood Memorial Cemetery in Crown Point, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Wayne's name to the Glioblastoma Research Organization or Road to Life Church in Michigan City.

I always considered Wayne a best friend and will miss him very much. I always admired his genuineness, humility and equanimity. I shared many Good Times watching his AAU team play. He easily could have been a level one college basketball coach. Diane my prayers are with you and I so sorry that I miss the funeral
