Susan C. Herrick Leishman
Our Sue Sue, Crazy Sue, Aunt Sue, Momma Sue and Grandma Sue passed away March 25, 2022 peacefully surrounded by her beloved daughter and grandkids after a courageous battle against the ugly C word Cancer.
Susan Child Herrick was born June 17, 1961 to Patricia Ann and Kenneth "Bish" Herrick, in Riverdale, UT. Growing up, Sue had a love for horses, family, music, and friends. At 9 years old, Susan was involved in an auto-ped accident with her dear friend Rhonda Jo Ward. It was the first day back after Christmas break and tragedy struck. Susan lived but Rhonda did not, and Sue simply could never get over that loss and feeling that she failed to protect Rhonda, which certainly was not the case. It was a tragic accident that led to a lifetime of struggles for Sue but through is all, she smiled, laughed, and made others around her also laugh. She lived on HER TERMS.
Susan had one son Kenneth (Kenny) Paul Spruill. She married the love of her life James Robert Leishman on News Years 1995. With that marriage she inherited two beautiful daughters that she loved like they were her own;
Amanda James and Ashley Ernestina.
Susan loved her cats, Steve and Tony. You simply did not mess with those cats. Susan loved music, Raiders Football, Tupac as well as watching and listening to Pastor Steven Furtick and all his sermons, she never fell asleep without listening to Christian music. Susan always made us laugh, she had tons of jokes. She fought for those she loved and never let anyone talk bad about them. She was our constant protector, ALWAYS. She was also a fighter! Susan fought many battles and survived so much. She was a true definition of a survivor.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband James, her mother and father and very special friends who she has always missed, Rhonda Jo Ward, Penny Orozco, Bobby Zamora. Susan is survived by her 2 sisters, Laurel (Kelly) Weaver (Corinne, UT) and Kathleen (Ron) Terkelson (South Ogden, UT) and 2 brothers, Chris (Debra) Herrick (Colorado) and Michael (Mike) Herrick (Ogden, UT). One son, Kenny Spruill (Riverdale, UT) and two daughters, Ashley (J.C.) John Garcia (Thatcher, UT) and Amanda (Timothy) Lucero (Ogden, UT), whom she loved with all her heart. She is also survived by 11 grandkids Joseph (Jakki) Vigil, Matthew SMG Rocha, Freedom Vigil, Matt Vigil, Mariah Vigil, Jessica Leishman Lucero, Lilly, Emilia, Serenity and Sophia Lucero, Shayd Vigil and one great grandson, Liam J. Vigil, her 6 nieces Cami Hess, Stephanie Howell, Anne Oneida, Kristen
Herrick, Audrey Herrick and Teresa Jamison as well as 2 nephews Nick Weaver and Jeremy Gurule. She also leaves behind a very special friend, Rueben Montoya.
Services will be held at 2:30pm, Sunday, April 3rd at God's Place 3717 Grant Avenue Ogden, UT 84405.
A celebration of Life and BBQ will also be held on the 3rd, after the services, at George Wahlen North Park Pavilion, 4200 S. 2175 W., Roy, UT.
Due to the lack of life insurance, we have the task of trying to find any means to give her a proper send off. We have set up an account at Ascent Credit Union (Account #41445/Routing #324377710) under the name of Ron
Terkelson (Memorial for Susan Herrick Leishman).
We, as a family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to IHC hospice nurses, Shannon, Gatlin, and Bonnie, as well as the nurse aids who helped Susan.
Until we meet again, you and all the great memories will stay in our
hearts and minds forever.
