Susan Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGrath, Myslinski, Kowalczyk & Nunn Funeral Directors - Utica on Oct. 1, 2025.
Susan Kay Clark died peacefully on August 8, 2025, at Sitrin Long-Term Care in New Hartford, NY, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born March 1, 1941, to the late Cass and Mary Russell Lewis.
Known to most as "Kay," she spent the majority of her life in the area surrounding Waverly, NY, most commonly referred to as The Valley. Kay graduated from Waverly High School in 1959, attended Alfred State, and married the love of her life, Robert Clark, in 1960, sharing more than 54 years together. Bob and Kay built their home and family in the Town of Chemung. In her early career days, Kay partnered with Sharon Bodine Dowd and co-founded Paragon Planning, where they successfully organized home shows throughout the Twin Tiers, eventually focusing on real estate sales and apartment management. Kay later changed careers and became Administrative Assistant for Creative Orthotics & Prosthetics in Elmira, NY, and returned to college at age 50, graduating from Corning Community College with a degree in Business Administration.
To be nearer their grandchildren, Bob and Kay relocated to Utica, NY, which is where Kay eventually retired from Creative. As more grandchildren came along, they moved to Oswego, NY, until Kay returned to The Valley in 2018. In her final years, she resided at Sitrin Long-Term Care in New Hartford, NY.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kay was predeceased by her brother, Robert Lewis, sister, Marcia Sykes, son-in-law, Albert Fuller, and brothers-in-law, Francis (Judy) Clark, Richard Robinson and Thomas Madigan.
Kay is survived by her children, Marysue Andrews of Utica, NY, Robert (Beth) Clark of Oswego, NY, and Allison Fuller of Kissimmee, FL; grandchildren, Ryan (Amelia) Andrews, Elizabeth (Szecso) Szendrody, Zoe, Robert, and Tristan Clark; great-grandson, Carson Andrews, step-grandchildren, Atasha (Loren) VanAmburg, Jaiden and Jorden Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Clark, Sylvia Robinson, Dianna (Blaine) Woodruff, Barbara Clark; and special life-long friends, Edith Robbins, Jean Ridler, and Sheila Jilson.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Sitrin for the care and kindness shown to Susan and her family, especially during her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Chemung Volunteer Fire Department, 679 Main Street, PO Box 138, Chemung, NY 14825.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, September 30, from 9am to 11am at Epiphany Church, S. Elmer Ave., Sayre, PA. Funeral service and burial will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of McGrath, Myslinski, Kowalczyk & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Road, Utica.
