Susan Switkes Cohen

Susan Ellen Switkes Cohen, 74, of Westport, CT, passed away on October 24, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Ivan Cohen for almost 50 years and the loving mother of Kevin, Andrew and David Cohen. Susan was born in New Haven, CT, the daughter of the late Frances and Harold Switkes. She was the adoring sister of Cathy (Erik) Cooley of Delmar, NY and the most wonderful aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. Susan graduated Lee High School in New Haven, and received her bachelor degree from Sarah Lawrence College. After college, she began her career at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a statistical analyst in New York City. Ultimately, she decided to stay home and raise their three sons. Susan will always be remembered as incredibly smart, endlessly thoughtful, and someone whose door was always open to everyone. She had the best sense of humor-quick, sharp, and full of warmth. She was a true lover of the arts, with a special passion for music, theater, and Broadway. Susan found such joy in bringing people together, welcoming friends and family into her home for any occasion.
She was loved deeply by her family, friends, and truly by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
