Susan Joy Collins, age 71 of Nixa, passed away on Wednesday, February 7th in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by her three beautiful daughters Genevieve, Heather, and Donna.     Born on November 3, 1952 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Susan grew up in Central Florida and graduated from Colonial High School in 1970. Though her first daughter, Angela, did not survive infancy, her following three daughters are her greatest legacy in life. All three are beautiful, self-assured, and successful in their endeavors. She is survived by grandchildren from all three daughters, and great grandchildren from Genevieve, the eldest. In addition to these mentioned, she is survived by her two brothers, Ken and Dave, and cousins in various parts of the country. She will be missed by all.     During her long life, Susan was talented and adventurous, enjoying horseback riding, dancing, and playing the guitar. She was a hard worker and entrepreneur, developing a cleaning business known as “The Barefoot Cleaning Lady”. She was a free spirit, living her life in many different parts of the country, from Florida to California and parts in between. She was eventually drawn to the Ozarks and settled in Missouri. Sweetly, she asked Jesus to save her in the final hours of her life and is enjoying an eternity in heaven by His side.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri, with Pastor Dave Collins officiating.  Visitation will be from 2-2:30 p.m. immediately before the service.  Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory and arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
