Beloved wife of John Duker, mother of Andrew (Amy) and Sarah Vogelgesang (David), grandmother of Cassie Vanderwoude (Malcolm); and Olivia, Lydia, Julianna and Christian. She passed away on September 9, 2024 at age 75.

Susan was born in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in public speaking. Later in her life, she was called by God to become an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). She received her Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in Dayton. During her career she served at a number of churches in the Cincinnati area, spreading the good news of Jesus and helping many congregations through difficult transitions as an interim pastor. She volunteered as a chaplain at Christ Hospital, bringing comfort to many patients in the ICU and other departments. She was an amazing singer in the church choir, and was an enthusiastic member of the Southern Gateway Chorus “Gateway Gals” boosters organization. Susan had an innate sense of humor, and loved a good play on words. Her “pun”derful presence will be sorely missed. She loved and was loved by her friends and her family.

Visitation will be Sept. 21 at St. John’s Westminster Union Church, 1085 Neeb Rd, Cincinnati OH from 2 pm to 3 pm, followed by a 3 pm memorial service and reception.
