Susan Jane Boyett "Susie" Edwards

1961 - 2025

Susan Jane "Susie" Boyett Edwards, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the age of 64, in her hometown of Garden City, GA. She was born on March 7, 1961, in Savannah, GA.

Susie is remembered for her unwavering warmth and kindness. She had an infectious spirit, characterized by joyous laughter and a limitless capacity to love and care for those around her.

Professionally, Susie dedicated her mathematical knack and organizational prowess to a successful career as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Georgia's Cooperative Extension. Her friendly charset and excellent work ethic greatly esteemed her among her respected colleagues.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, John Lewis Boyett and Viola Pearl "Betty" Brown Boyett.

Susie leaves behind a large, thankful, and loving family. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Stephen "Steve" Edwards Jr., with whom she shared a beautiful marriage and partnership of 40 years. Her legacy of love extends through her three daughters: Stephine Clay, Katrina Simmons (Michael), and Sarah Nicole Alderman (William). She also leaves behind a wonderful son, John Edwards. Her family's day was made brighter by the presence of her brother, Robert Lewis Boyett, and cherished sister-in-law Stella.

Susie adored being a grandmother and spent her days immersing herself in the joy and lives of her delightful grandchildren: Ronnie, Victoria, Candyce, Johnathan, Wyatt, Greyson, and Oliver. Additionally, she found joy and relaxation in camping and shared this love of nature with her grandchildren on numerous adventures.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel.
