PHOENIX – Susan R. (Kranich) Granoff, age 90, died peacefully Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Advanced Care in Phoenix after a period of declining health. Born in Worcester, Sue was the daughter of Ivan and Helen (Mittell) Kranich and lived most of her life in Worcester, before moving to Phoenix a few years ago.
After graduating from Classical High School, Sue earned a Bachelor's Degree from Simmons College. She worked for many years as a Social Worker caring for disabled children, seniors and even in a women's prison. She served for several decades as the Director of Volunteer Services at the Worcester Jewish Community Center. Sue worked with the JCC's older adult population and helped feed and enrich the lives of those she served. She also volunteered in the preschool and was everyone's adopted "nanny". She was an active and life-long member of Temple Emanuel Sinai.
Sue will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son, Michael D. Granoff of New York City; her daughter, Amy Rohald of Phoenix; her beloved grandchildren, Benjamin, Kate and Jonathan Rohald, and Sarah and Caroline Granoff; and her great-grandchildren Riley, Beckett, Poppy and Wren.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 60 years, William B. Granoff.
