Susan E. Henrichsen, age 53, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at her home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 17 at 12:00 pm at Oakridge Community Church, 766 Oakridge Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Susan's memory may be directed to the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan.

Susan was born on September 13, 1972 to Michael and Judith (Valensky) Cavanaugh in San Diego, CA. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1990 and continued her education at Western Michigan University where she earned her bachelor's degree in accounting. Susan eventually went on to work at River Valley School District as a paraprofessional for 17 years.

Susan married Eric Henrichsen on April 30, 1994, in Sawyer, MI. Together they raised their two children in Sawyer and celebrated 31 years of marriage. Susan enjoyed spending her time puzzling, crocheting, and playing games on her iPad. She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved sharing her delicious meals and cookies with friends and family, especially during the holidays. Susan also enjoyed being in nature and loved watching the wildlife around her.

Susan was always thinking of those around her and how she could offer any help or support. Her compassionate nature was felt by all she met and her thoughtfulness, kindness and courageous willpower will always be remembered by those she loved.

Susan is survived by her husband, Eric; children, Hannah (Austin) Eichhorst and Brandon Henrichsen; one grandchild on the way; parents, Mike and Judy Cavanaugh; sister, Maureen Cavanaugh; mother-in-law, Dawn Henrichsen; Eric and Susan's entire loving extended family; and grandpuppy Casey. She was preceded in death by her beloved friend, Susan O'Hare. Susan was loved by family, friends, and her community, and she will be dearly missed.
