Susan Hurtado Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 20, 2025.
Susan (Sue) J. Hurtado of Blaine, MN, was born on January 22, 1950, and passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel Hurtado Jr. She is survived by her loving children: Ryan, Justin (Kayla), and Patrick (Mari); her siblings Cheryl Ford, Joanne Vondrak, Jackie Callander (Bill), and David Alexander; and her seven cherished grandchildren: Kevin, Caden, Bennett, Blake, Korbin, Amelia, and Karson. Sue dedicated her life to her family as a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She loved spending time with people, especially her best friend, Donna. A passionate gardener and skilled woodworker, Sue always kept herself busy with projects. She delighted in hosting large backyard gatherings, where her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren play in the pool. Her love of music filled the home and became a lasting gift to her sons. Whether it was a favorite record spinning on the turntable or the sound of singing and playing instruments together, music was always present. Sue also had a deep love for nature, and she and her family enjoyed many outdoor adventures, including camping trips across Minnesota. A visitation and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church (8211 Red Oak Dr, Mounds View, MN 55112). Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the service at 10:30 a.m., a luncheon, and then a procession to Fort Snelling National Cemetery for burial.
