Susan Jane Killman, age 77, born to James C. & Virginia O'Malley in
Richmond Heights, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Susan grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in education. She taught kindergarten, first, second and third grade classes in Escondido, California, Richardson, Texas and La Grange, Illinois. Susan's life was one defined by devotion-to her faith, her family, her friends, and her community. She lived with quiet strength and steady grace, always trusting that God was walking beside her.
Susan was the foundation of her family, strong, caring, loving, and endlessly devoted to those she held dear. She was a loving and devoted mother to her sons, Ryan, Keith, and Kevin, and a cherished mother-in-law to Nina and Zuleyka, whom she welcomed with open arms and loved as her own. Susan was a fantastic grandmother who took immense joy in every moment spent with her grandchildren, Madelyn and Liam, who were the lights of her life and a constant source of pride and happiness.
For more than 52 years, Susan shared a beautiful marriage with her beloved husband and partner, Patrick. Their life together was built on faith, commitment, laughter, and enduring love partnership rooted in mutual respect and deep devotion, and one that served as an example to all who knew them.
A loyal and cherished friend to many, Susan had a rare gift for forming meaningful, lasting relationships. She made people feel seen, valued, and welcome, and her friendships spanned many circles and seasons of life. She was actively involved in numerous charitable and social organizations, including Cypress Woodlands Junior Forum, Centrum Arts League, and Shining Star Guild. Susan also greatly treasured her Bunco, Bridge, and Birthday Club groups, where friendships flourished and joy was always shared.
Service to others was a natural extension of who Susan was. She gave freely of her time, her compassion, and her heart, never seeking recognition, hoping to make a difference. Her generosity and kindness touched countless lives.
Faith was the cornerstone of Susan's life. Her foundation of faith was unbreakable, guiding her every step and sustaining her through every season. She carried a deep and abiding trust in God, knowing without doubt that He was always with her. That faith gave her strength, peace, and comfort, and it shaped the way she loved her family and served others. In her final moments, she was surrounded by family and by the assurance she had always held-that she was never alone.
Susan will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love for her family, her loyalty to her friends, and her compassionate spirit. Her presence was a blessing, her love a gift, and her legacy one of faith, strength, and grace. Though she will be profoundly missed, all who knew her take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, resting in God's eternal embrace.
Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of her family, her friends, and all whose lives she touched.
