Susan Ann Knight, 68, went to be with her heavenly father on September 13, 2025, after having a pulmonary embolism.

She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on July 12, 1957, to Frank Lyons Rose, Jr. and Jo Evelyn Rose. Her father, Frank, served in the Air Force, so Susan lived in multiple states before they settled down in Norman, Oklahoma.

After settling down in Oklahoma and before beginning her law career, she gave birth to her first son, Frank Smith, in January 1978.

In 1992, she graduated from the University of Oklahoma Law School and became a civil rights attorney. This led her to becoming an attorney who defended police officers, where she met her husband, Gary, in November 1992. They were married on September 11, 1993.

In 1995, she gave birth to her second son, Samuel Knight, and gave birth to her third son, Christopher Knight in 1998.

After a long career representing the officers of the Oklahoma City Police Department and the Fraternal Order of Police, she retired to spend time with her family in March 2017. Through her successful career, she was a champion of law enforcement officers.

In her retirement, she supported her children in school, built relationships with her granddaughters, Giuliana Smith and Celine Knight, travelled the world, saw her children get married, and spent the rest of her time with her husband, Gary.

She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Norman, where she enjoyed singing with the choir.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Knight; her sons, Frank Smith, Samuel Knight and his wife Destiny, Christopher Knight and his wife Hannah; her brother. Richard Rose and his wife Kathleen; and her granddaughters, Giuliana Smith and Celine Knight. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; and many other friends and relatives.
