Kushner, Susan
ALBANY - Susan Kushner, 81, of Albany N.Y., passed away on March 11, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Susan has been a proud and active member of the Albany Jewish community for over 40 years. She was an educator at heart, who taught hundreds of children at the pre-schools of Temple Israel and Ohav Shalom, tutored scores of Bnei Mitzvah students, and led weekly Torah Study at Congregation Beth Emeth.
Devoted wife, selfless mother, and Savta, Susan led by example and was a mother figure to many. May her legacy of giving and generosity be a guide to us all.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 14, at 1:00 p.m., at Congregation Beth Emeth. Shiva will be held at 37 Aspen Circle, Albany, Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, 10 a.m. to noon. I am so sorry to hear this news. Phil - she was an amazing person. Ayal, Liat,Lior - Your mom was amazing. She was my mentor. She taught me soooo much. She was there for me in hard teaching times and hard personal times. She was so kind hearted and she touched the lives of so many kids. I was proud to work with her I´m so sad right now. Dear Phil, Ayal,Leore, Liat, Nanci, Family and Friends

We were shocked and very saddened to learn of Susan's passing. We spent many happy vacations at Silver Bay with Susan and Phil. Her warm smile and family stories always made our time together fun and enjoyable. Susan was a terrific woman, a compassionate person and we hope that her smile and warm heart will live on forever through her family and friends and bring comfort during these dark days.
