Susan C. Louthan passed away peacefully on October 15 in Loveland, Colorado.
Susan was born on November 15, 1932 in Reading, Pennsylvania. She spent her childhood in Charlottesville, Virginia before moving to northern Virginia for her high school years. She graduated in 1954 from Penn State University.
She married Robert B. Louthan on October 6, 1962. He was minister of Babcock United Presbyterian Church, later Loch Raven Presbyterian, in Baltimore, Maryland. They raised their three children in Baltimore. In 1999, Sue and Bob moved to Loveland, where Bob was a minister at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He died in 2013.
Susan is survived by her two remaining children, son Howard (Andrea) and daughter Marti (Clayton) She was grandmother to Tony, Tim, Peter, Morgan, and Rowan, a role she loved. At their house in Loveland, she planted trees for each one of the grandchildren. Each tree bore a plaque with the child's name. She loved to play Scrabble and regularly defeated her children well into her 90s!
She was preceded in death by husband Robert and son Stephen.
