SUSAN (FERLA) MARINI

Age 80, of Oakmont, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Herman Marini Jr., son Herman Marini III of Glenshaw, daughter Elizabeth Marini of Ranson, WV, as well as a niece and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Margaret Ferla, and her sister Lois (Schurer). Raised in Etna, she graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Sharpsburg and Citizens General Hospital School of Nursing in New Kensington. After working in the operating room at Allegheny General Hospital, she returned to Citizens to teach nursing. She devoted herself full time to raising her two children and was an exceptional builder of model ships and doll houses. A two-time cancer survivor, over the last years she faced Parkinson's and multiple other serious health issues with a quiet dignity and very deep faith in the Lord. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 4-8 PM at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. A Requiem Mass will be offered on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 9:30 AM at Most Precious Blood of Jesus Parish in Pittsburgh's North Side, 3300 California Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Church Cemetery in O'Hara Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (www.humaneanimalrescue.org), the Gary Sinise Foundation (www.garysinisefoundation.org), or the charity of your choice.
